A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a lot of features, but it’s remarkably easy to work with, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes only one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be shown in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without difficulty even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you’ve set up with your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will notify you if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you decide that you don’t need the feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
